éternel
(Eternal)

here, here in the night,
as the rain falls,
as I lay sleeping and dreaming alone,
I feel the music
coursing inside me
and as it claims me, I have no fear.

the hourglass turns
and in that moment
life begins and the darkness ends.
And I breathe in the scent of this moment in time with you.
Like a dream, it glitters fragile as glass.

as the rain falls
I lift up my face,
close my eyes,
hearing your name.

the music goes on,
standing alone I sing
I think of you
and me, and what I know someday will be

and through the nights and the endless days
I hold on to the dream and the hope and the prayr.
And I'm not scared as long as you're there
with me.

...the hourglass turns...

...in that hour when the glass turns and new ventures as though a fleck of sand at a time unravel to be revealed..

Cala, Ahh yes, you are writing again...more!

What is the music inside of you? I've heard this before but never fully understood it.

what do you mean?
if you mean the poem, it's my own original.
if you mean the phraise "the music inside me" well, I'm not sure, it's hard to explain.
There's a bit in an Evanescence song called eternal where it's just piano and rain sounds. from that music and that, I created the rhythem of this poem. I guess that music could be meant by the music inside me. It's really difficult to explain.

I was thinking that the music inside a person was refering to a moment when one experiences inner peace, a moment when everything that distracts, disturbs, annoys, etc, is silenced and the only thing one can hear is peace. I guess I was reading something spiritual into your poem, I tend to do that at times. It's difficult to have inner peace, with all the noise brought on by problems, neighbors, traffic, ambulances and sirens indicating death and violence, screams etc. I thought you meant you felt a peace that you wished could be eternal. I guess not though. I like your poem anyway.
